Aliyah the Hyper Hypo

Some days Aliyah wears me out with all her energy and curiosity. Usually people don't believe she could really be that hyper....until they try to hold her. She just never stops moving! Troy and I were laughing about it the other day and he remembered an old SNL skit that we are pretty sure is a window into Aliyah's future. And for clarification, Aliyah would play the part of Pilip the Hyper Hypo, not sweet little Grace :) (if you don't have time to watch the whole thing, the first minute and a half will give you the general idea)

Climb On!

So my newest and most terrifying hobby is Rock Climbing. I know, I know, me of all people. Non-athletic, terrified of heights little me. But guess what? I LOVE it! I can only do easy climbs right now, but the exhileration of forcing my body to do something that my brain is screaming it can't (and shouldn't!) do is the greatest feeling ever. I love climbing with my family because they cheer me on even when I'm at my worst. Aliyah is a born natural though, she loves grabbing on the rocks and holds and pulling herself up. You should try it some time! I dare you!

The Best Mothers Day Gift Ever

That's what my mom said when she finished reading the book that I made for her for Mother's Day. The whole family pitched in with letters and memories and Pop wrote a beautiful poem for my mom that I used to title the book and as a theme throughout the book. I knew I had done my job well when she started crying the minute the wrapping paper came off the cover.
