Delinquent

Ok, so we still don't have internet down in our apartment, so I apologize to the world on being a delinquent blogger/blog commentor. Please forgive me. I wish I could say that things will be getting better from here on out, but as we are headed for Cancun tomorrow for eight, wonderful, child-free days, I'm afraid you won't be hearing from us again for a little bit. I can already hear the waves and [virgin] margaritas calling my name......

Happy Halloweeeeeen!

Most of you know, I'm a Halloween freak. I just love making costumes and getting all dressed up, and the fact that it's a free candy holiday doesn't hurt either. This year our little family costume theme was the Wizard of Oz, and I had so much fun doing costumes! I made Aliyah and Gavin's costumes and the key element of Troy's. If you can guess what he is (or the key phrase that describes it from the movie) you get 10 million richizzle bucks. I guess that's what I get for marrying a guy with an overactive imagination :) We had a little shin-dig with our old ward and 4-plex friends and had a blast! We had to do all our celebrating early since we leave tomorrow for Cancun....

Brrrr!

So this last weekend Angie and James through together an imprompu get-together of our old ward friends up at the cabin. We had a blast playing games like Bohnanza, cowboy mafia, and were exceptionally entertained by the antics of all our kids running amok together. The next morning we were delighted to find the fall colors blanketed by falling snow. It was so beautiful and made our gourmet crepe breakfast all the more enjoyable! Thanks for a great weekend everybody!

Labor of Love (and Peace)

Troy and Santiago have been working together for a few years now restoring vintage VW bugs and buses for collectors. It started on a whim when Santiago bought an old bug for a good deal, and realized that with a few parts and some elbow grease, he could make a good profit on it. Bugs became Buses, which became campers and Flip-seats. It is absolutely AMAZING the work that they do, that they are able to turn a complete rust bucket into a $45,000.00 - $90,000.00 show-piece. The bus in the picture above is on Ebay right now, and looks to sell for about $46,000. Troy's bus (the lighter green one below) will be the next one sold. It was in even worse condition than the one pictured next to it, and now it's the most beautiful camper I've ever seen!

The Price is Right

Troy's cousin Mindy and I are putting together a few craft items for an upcoming boutique. If you had spending money for this sort of thing, would you pay more or less than $20 for it?

Say Uncle!

My brothers came to visit from New York this weekend, and it makes me so happy to have my whole family together. We ate, laughed, snuggled, and acted like the total dorks we are. Aliyah and Gavin got re-aquainted with "Unco Dano" and "Unco Do Do" and I love that it's like they never left!

The Apple of my Eye

We were on a walk and passed this beautiful apple orchard, and I just happened to have my camera on hand. Currently, Aliyah stands in danger of being the most intensly photographed non-celebrity child in history, but I can't help it, she's so stinkin cute! (As a disclaimer, I am biased as to the level of her cuteness, but hey, I'm a mom! )
