We have always known that we have the greatest friends and family out there, but you have all really proven yourselves. Gavin is doing so well, and I'm convinced its because we have so many incredible people praying for him! Imagine what would happen if we turned you all loose on a problem like world peace! He is finally able to breathe on his own, without any respiratory assistance, and occasionally they will take off his canula so he can practice. The doctor says he still wants to have him on oxygen most of the time so he can focus his energy growing in other ways, but it is so good to see him without it on! Gavin has been gaining weight steadily, and has just started attempting breastfeeding. It takes preemies much longer to master breastfeeding than full term babies because their brains are still too immature to coordinate sucking, swallowing and breathing all at the same time, but he is doing really well so far. The doctor is so impressed with his progress that on Saturday he is moving him out of the Isolette and into an open bed. That is a huge step. He also said that if things continue going as well as they have been and Gavin can master breastfeeding, he may be able to come home in as little as 3 weeks (but no promises....)!

What a strong little boy. That's great they are even talking about sending him home. Are you ready for two kids 24/7. It's probably easier than having him at the hospital. Congrats on everything. We can't wait to meet him.

Hooray! He looks so so good! And I'm emotional right now- reading that you are just now breastfeeding. I'm so excited for you and Gavin to start being able to have that experience. You guys are the reason he is doing so well. He has the BEST parents in the world and the cutest big sister ever! We love guys! We'll be praying for the 3 week away homecoming.

Congrads. I'm glad to know that he's out of the lsolette room. It must be nice to see him in the open bed without all those tubes on him. You must be very happy to finally hold him into your arms knowing that he's getting better each and everyday. Stay positive and knows that he will be ok. He'll be home in no time.

Bueno!! We are very happy to see Gavin doing well. Just think, in 16 years you might catch him making out with Jayci and you'll have to ground him to his room. That doesn't have much to do with anything except we are happy for you and hope to see Gavin home soon.
3 weeks? That's great!! I'm so happy that he is going so well. What a champ! He is one special kid to make it through all of this so well. Not to mention the great parents he has! Glad you guys are doing good!
