Overkill

We are gathered here today to mourn over the loss of Melissa Mary Richardson, who died yesterday from a fatal combination of cake batter, tulle, tissue paper, and Elmer's glue. It was an accident that could have been avoided had she not been egged on by her "inner Diva" as she often called it. Melissa began her downward spiral when she began planning her mother's 50th birthday fiesta, and the enthusiastic words "we could even hand-make our own decorations" escaped her lips. One thing led to another, as these things often go, and her Diva addiction was too strong to allow her to turn down the opportunity to whip up a fairy princess costume at her Diva support group 4 days before the big fiesta. Following the party, Melissa was found lifeless amongst a bed of paper flowers, papel picado, and pinata parts. Being in complete denial of her "problem," Melissa threw herself full force into fiesta preparation. Things took a turn for the worst when her father asked "Do you think we could make our own Pinata?" Not one to turn down a craft challenge, Melissa excitedly agreed to the task. An autopsy showed lethal amounts of elmers glue and tissue paper dye in her bloodstream. She is survived by her dear husband and two children who continue their efforts to revive her so that she can finish decorating Aliyah's birthday cake for tomorrow.
